Aurora
Founded in 1891, the city of Aurora was originally called Fletcher, changing its name in 1907. Twenty minutes east of Denver, Aurora is the home to more than 276,000 residents and 10,400 businesses. Employing more than 101,000 people, Aurora businesses include manufacturing, wholesale and retail sales, and financial and service employers. With its close proximity to the E-470 Toll Road and I-70, Aurora continues to grow at a rate of more than 2 percent each year.

Not a city to forget its past, Aurora proudly offers tours and programs through its Historic Sites and Preservation Office. In addition to tours through the John Gully Homestead and the William Smith School, the historical office offers blacksmithing workshops, woodstove cooking classes, and old-fashioned laundry days.
