City Park
City Park is a premier Denver Park and is the largest park in Denver. City Park is also the name of the neighborhood where the park is located. The park is home to the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Ferril and Duck lakes and a boat house. Renting a paddle boat at the lake is just one activity you can do to enjoy the park. The entire neighborhood is only two blocks wide and a mile long. You will find the City Park Golf Course immediately north of the park. Borders are between York St. to the west and Colorado Blvd. to the east. City Park neighborhood is bounded by 23rd Ave. to the north and Colfax Ave. to the south.
City Park is known for its many historic brick residential buildings, Denver square style homes, and historic brick commercial structures along Colfax Avenue. The Pinnacle high rise luxury condos constructed in City Park are popular among empty nesters and down town office workers who have decided to move back to the down town area. Leaving the suburbs for downtown shopping, culture, sporting attractions, and public transportation. Prices start at $289,000 and range up to $2.75 million.
Colfax Avenue around the City Park Neighborhood has some of the most trendy restaurants and stores in the area. You will also find other businesses located here as well. Don’t forget to stop by the Tattered Covered Bookstore across from East High School, which boasts more than 150 titles. East High School is one of Denver’s original high schools. Celebrities Don Cheadle, Judie Collins, and Pam Grier attended East High School.
