I walk by The Broker Restaurant in Denver every morning and evening on my way to and from work. From the outside, it resembles a mere Denver high rise building, with no glitz or glamour. Out of pure curiosity, I dragged my husband to this unforeign territory. I am not quite sure what words accurately describe the ambience and excitement that swam through my bones as I entered. I’m not sure if it was the red carpet stairs, the dark room, the half moon leather booths, the large vault door or the fact that I had just gone back in time and landed in the 1903. We sat at the bar, ordered our *Top Shelf* drinks and pondered over the appetizer menu. We landed on the shrimp bowl, simple yet satifying. The bowl came and let me tell you, there was more shrimp in this thing than candy in a candy shop. My husband and I, both starving, couldn’t finish this dish. Come to find out, with EVERY entree order, you begin the meal with this LARGE bowl of shrimp. The dinner prices may not be that happy hour friendly, but I tell you what — ”The Broker Restuarant may be one of THE BEST happy hours in all of Denver”.

Our *Top shelf* drinks were a measly $4 each. All appetizers are $5. On Sundays they have $9.95 Prime Rib and 1/2 price bottles of wine. I can’t rave about this place more. YOU.MUST.GO.THERE.NOW

First on my list of this weekend Denver events is the 4th Annual Denver Arts Week.  This Denver event will run from November 5 – 13. The week kicks off  tonight with “Know Your Arts First Friday”. The walk will extend out to 8 neighborhoods and more than a dozen free museums are hosting longer hours on Saturday night. Go grab your significant other (and maybe your dog) and take a nice stroll on this lovely November evening.
